You Asked, We Listened.. JRGP Format Changed

To remember the late Jason Richards Kartsport Nelson have had the aim of running an annual meeting with a new and unique race format. We put a format out there and after feedback from drivers and supporters we have decided to make a few changes to make it even better.

The key elements that we wanted out of this meeting was for it to be different from the traditional 4 heats and a final or the current CIK format. As a club we want to emphasise and encourage the elements of "Fun" and "Strategy" through this novel and unique format.

The original format was criticised for the potential lack of racing for the slower or unlucky competitors. The new programme addresses these concerns and will provide all drivers and spectators with two days of exciting and competitive racing.

This is the proposed format which we came up with, please note that it has not been finalised but we are working on getting the changes made ASAP.

The Higgins JRGP Format is:

Saturday 29th November

1 x Turning Run

1 x Qualifying Run

1 x 25 lap Heat Race

1 x 25 lap Heat Race (Reverse Grid From Heat One Results)

1 x Shootout

Pole Position Prize Giving

Sunday 30th November

2 x Turning Runs

1 x 50 lap Grand Prix Race (Which will include a compulsory pitstop)

Prize Giving

Points from both the heat races on the Saturday will determine the grid positions for the grand prix racing on Sunday, with the top 6 (or up to 10) positions in each determined by 1 lap shootout.

Trophies and prize money for both Saturdays shootout and Sundays feature races, should make both days exciting and competitive.

We hope to have the racing and prize giving wrapped up mid afternoon so anyone travelling can get away and home early.

Entry Forms are here (please note they still have the old format on them)
