Gridley Goes Top At Goldstar

alt

After finishing runner up at the past two rounds of the Bayleys WPKA Goldstar Series, Nelson's Brendon Gridley has finally found himself on top in the Rotax Heavy class.

Round three of the series took place in the Hutt Valley, Wellington over the weekend.

Gridley went into the weekend third but only one point behind Nelson's Kevin Barker who was tied with Ashley Higgins from Palmerston North. But after a strong performance in Wellington Gridley not only won the round but has also taken the series lead.

Barker also finished on the podium in third even through he managed to take a heat win it wasn't quite enough and has slipped back to third in the championship with only two points separating the top three so it will be all on going into the last round which will be held in Hawke's Bay in May.

Four other Nelson drivers also attended Goldstar Series over the weekend, including Bo Hill and Ollie Workman racing in the Cadet Rok class. Hill would of been expecting stronger results than 11th after his current form but wasn't quite on the pace. Workman is the new kid on the block and starting to make progress with his racing and finished 12th.

Josh Bradley and Louise Gridley raced in the very competitive Vortex Mini Rok class and finished 13th and 16th respectively.
